I only seem to post when a LAN is coming up. HMMMMMM. Temecula is where it will be, but this year is the last time. Jammer is closing up shop. We will have to find another location next time.

In other news...
I am looking for another job because my contract with Qualcomm is ending June 30. I've been redesigning things and I think I'll start with a registration form that hooks up to a SQL database. Then I will come up with another design for this blog. The spider is cool so I may just use web 2.0 for elements in this design. Should be lots of fun.

Until next time,
Keep it less ordinary!
;)

It's that time again. House of LAN is this weekend. Excited to see all my old friends again. It's been a long time. This time Liam is old enough to see what's going on. I think he'll have a blast with all the folks. We are up in Mira Mesa this year. I definitely like this venue better, but it's smaller so we can't have as many people as last year. Having it in May is also better cause it gives our bank account a chance to recouperate after Christmas. :P

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I started my new job at Qualcomm. I'm really liking the environment here. I've got my own office, phone number, nice computer, can walk on my breaks all over the place, and I've got great co-workers. Life seems to be back on track with work, health, and family. :D

Learning to use only CSS

I've heard that once you use css for a web page's entire layout, you never want to go back to using tables. So, I have been exploring layout techniques so that when I redo my website, I will only be using css. I've been able to make a very basic css 3 column design. Click Here to see it.

I've also been experimenting with XML and it's stylesheet XSL. That is definetly a bit more tricky. Not the XML, just the stylesheet. I love the fact that with XML I can name my own tags. Just imagine what my deranged little mind can come up with... Well, maybe not. I think I'll iron out the css kinks I have first before moving on to XML. I may just use the XML for a simple guestbook that I program myself. Depends on how my job search goes.
